BIBA Los Angeles Onerta Plant Stem Cell Peptide Serum

plant-stem-cell-peptide-serum

I can’t talk about the Onerta Plant Stem Cell Peptide Serum without talking about the creator first.  Biba is hands down the best esthetician I’ve had!  I have followed her from location to location for years and years, until she created her permanent home at BIBA Los Angeles.  Her profound love for her craft and deep understanding of skincare has made her a one-of-a-kind. There is no one-size-fits-all approach here.  Everything is customized for your skin and what it needs. And with celebrity clients like Emily Blunt, Miley Cyrus, Emma Roberts and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the secret is out!

Biba’s passion and knowledge are also embedded in her product line!  My favorite is the firming and nourishing Onerta Plant Stem Cell Peptide Serum.  This sophisticated cocktail is rich with cell-communicating Palmitoyl Tripeptides-5, 38 and cell-protecting Echinacea Plant Stem Cells that help stimulate collagen. And when you add hydration-boosting Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol and skin rejuvenating CoQ10 to the mix, you have perfect skin nutrition.  Such a highly effective, multi-tasking warrior product!  Skin feels and looks smoother, strengthened and revitalized.

Most Stem Cell and Peptide loaded products tend to be very expensive. Comparatively, Biba’s Serum is reasonable at $80. And like all her products,  it’s organic, vegan, cruelty free, non comedogenic, phthalates and sulfate free. This is a winner for all skin types.

BY TERRY Baume de Rose

By Terry Baume de Rose

Who wants to spend $60 on a lip balm? Certainly, not I. So how did it happen? Well, it all began when I was leaving my beloved Barneys Love Yourself Beauty Event and I passed the By Terry counter. I was almost out the door when I thought to myself, I keep reading and hearing endlessly about this balm, let me just try a swipe so I can stop wondering. And that was the beginning of the end.

The BY TERRY Baume De Rose is much to my dismay, GLORIOUS!  One application lasts for hours on end, eliminating the need to reapply endlessly. Lips are truly hydrated, not just coated. And the SPF 15 filled pale pink sheen pluses your natural lip color. It’s plumping, creating the illusion of fuller lips, and it makes a great base for keeping lipstick in place. Suprisingly, it also doubles as a cuticle cream. But let’s face it! There’s no way I’m going to waste it on my hands unless I scooped too much on my lips.

By Terry Baume de Rose

The only thing I’m not a fan of is dipping my finger in to apply it. There is a lip gloss version of it but it does contain less product.  Beside, I wouldn’t want to give up pulling out this gorgeous jar  to apply it. The whole experience of using this somehow feels sensorially fulfilling. The heaviness of the jar, the heavenly rose scent, the substantial consistency, and the resulting baby soft lips. Now if your not a fan of roses, you might be a little less impressed but otherwise, this lip balm is sadly a delightfully luxurious experience. No wonder, it’s a cult classic!

From the By Terry site:

– A lipo-regenerating complex made up of Rose Flower Essential Wax with softening and astringent properties, Pastel Oil to boost cell renewal, and Shea Butter with healing and soothing benefits, supplies strength, nutrition and comfort.- The Hydroskin complex, a combination of filling spheres and active ingredients of lipid origin, provides optimal hydration.- Biotechnological ceramides deliver youthfulness and density thanks to their restructuring and firming action and their smoothing effect.

– Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant, and Sun Protection Factor 15 protect the lips against the harmful effects of light and help to fight against aging.

T. LeClerc – Loose Powder in Orchidee

T. LeClerc Loose Powder Orchidee

Winter sallowness got you down? Does your skin need a pick me up in general? This excessively finely milled loose powder, brightens the skin beautifully, while seemingly erasing flaws. The pale pink shade might look scary in the tin, but it’s a super power at neutralizing yellows and wiping out exhaustion. Say good-bye to pores and hello to well-rested glowing skin!

The French makeup line, T. LeClerc was born in 1881 and in this competitive modern day market, it continues to thrive thanks to its superior products. Orchidee is one my most beloved. First, I  sweep this very lightly over my face with a fan brush. Then I apply an extra layer over my cheeks for the most natural flush. It makes a gorgeous blush. Then I love to add some around the outer edges of my face for glow and definition. Finally, I gently buff it for a second with my beauty blender sponge (but any sponge will do). Another great multi-tasker, Orchidee also works as an subtle eye brightener, counteracting those dark circles.

T. LeClerc Orchidee

Besides being in love with the quality, texture and tone of this powder, I’m obsessed with the packaging. The gorgeous classic tin is oh-so-deliciously French and the fine net lets you get just the right amount of powder on your brush. And the best part, the rice powder base makes this a friend to the most sensitive of skins.

Alcone Non-Latex Make-Up Sponges

Alcone-s-Non-Latex-Sponges_productfull

Does latex irritate your skin? Would you rather not chance it? Alcone Non-Latex Make-Up Sponges are the perfect solution.

This is a discovery that I have to credit my sister-in-law with. These velvety staples are water-based, making blending out shadows or applying foundation a joy. You’ll end up using less product since they won’t soak all the water out of your makeup.  And they’re washable and biodegradable, with zero yellowing and no crumbling. These wedges are anything but flimsy. It’s no wonder they are an In Style magazine and industry favorite.

Available for $2.50 for 8 sponges:

I’m hooked on this super-radiant color which is aptly named Radiant. It lights up the face in a natural yet better than natural way.

Sheer and  hyper-moisturizing, this lustrous gloss is slightly plummy/rosy in color, adding just the right amount of kick to this nude!

Wear it alone or on top of any lipstick. Lips look fuller. Face looks brighter and more luminous. A staple for every pout!

NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

Nars-Pro-Prime-Smudgeproof-Eye-Shadow-Base-lgn

The eyelid primer of eyelid primers. Nothing beats out NARS! The tiniest dab on each eyelid and even right underneath your lower lashes (if you are applying liner or eyeshadow there), will keep your makeup in perfect form for hours on end. This is a true workhorse.

nars_fall_collection_2009

How so little primer can set your eyeshadow in place, along with capturing it’s true intensity, never ceases to amaze me.  No melting makeup, no creasing, no smudging. Eyeshadow looks smooth, vibrant and freshly applied, without your eyelids looking dry and heavy.

nars-holiday-2011-collection

No primer I’ve come across even comes close to this one and I’ve tried all the big guns. The creamy velvety texture of this base melts right into your skin without any tackiness. And although it applies white, it quickly disappears.

NARS Eyes

The one drawback? This stuff is so good, it’s hard to wipe away makeup application booboos.  But I’ll take that over eye shadow that’s sitting on my cheeks after a few hours. Oh, and did I mention no creasing? I repeat. No creasing. No fading. NARS  Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base is worth every penny.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Le Gloss in Red Fatale

072312-gwen-stefani-tca-lips-340

I know I’ve already reviewed L’Oreal’s Infallible Le Gloss, but this stuff is so good that I had to snatch up more colors. Which lead me to discovering my new favorite long wearing red lip color. Just in time for the Holidays.

Red Fatale is a true red, neutral and opaque, that works with every skintone. In fact, it’s a Gwen Stefani red and she knows her reds. Now, I must confess. I tend to get lazy about wearing bright colors because I hate having to touch them up all day. But this gloss is not only super long-wearing, resisting fading and feathering, it’s also hydrating. But my favorite quality is that L’Oreal has nailed the perfect tone, the perfect hue. It actually makes your skin look brighter, more rested, more radiant. This gloss is truly glow worthy.

Jennifer-Lopez-Red-Lips

But don’t despair if this red seems overwhelming. Try Cherry Flash (340) for a softer less opaque shade of red. I just couldn’t resist. I had to have both!

Tip: Line your pucker first to get a more defined shape. And don’t rub your lips together when applying. It’ll prevent pushing the color to the edges. Just coat the lips with a layer or two and that’s it. You are good to go for hours!
